We are based in Hilperton, near Trowbridge, Wiltshire, and meet every Tuesday morning in St Mary's Church, Horse Road, Hilperton, from approximately 9.30 a.m. until 12.30 a.m.
All our artists are complete amateurs who enjoy getting together to explore artistic ideas and create a variety of highly unique artwork.

ST MARY'S ART GROUP SUMMER EXHIBITION 2025.....
Once again we would really like to thank those people who visited our exhibition on the weekend of July 5th & 6th in Holt.
Whilst the numbers on Saturday were disappointing (rain possibly stopped play for some), the number of attendees on sunny Sunday was much better. We would especially like to thank those of you who were 'returners' having come last year or had met some of us at other events such as The Lions Club Of Bradford-on-Avon or seen our work in a venue such as Trowbridge Garden Center.
And, finally, your compliments were wonderful to receive so please spare our blushes but, having our exhibition described as 'breathtaking' and 'stunning', is something we do not take for granted
We are hugely grateful.
We have a really varied and talented bunch of artists in our group! Just look at some of these fabulous artworks ....
OUR STORY....
St Mary's Art Group initially started in 2000 in St Mary's Church, Hilperton, and meetings are still held in the same place every Tuesday morning. A few years previous to this a few people had joined a local art class for Absolute Beginners (Drawing and Painting) with local artist Sue Burns as their tutor. Two years after this Sue Burns decided her students were competent enough to move on and so St Mary's Art Group was formed.
Although people have come and gone the group remains committed and simply enjoys meeting up to create, exchange ideas, improve techniques and express our individual interpretations of everyday living using a wide variety of styles.
